Physically Challenged and Self Employed

Here is a young man in Abuja, Nigeria who has every reason to feel sorry for himself, rather he created a mobile snack shop business using his locally-made wheelchair.

In Nigeria, as in most parts of Africa, physically challenged or those with some form of physical disability receive no form of assistance or support from the government. Basically, there is no welfare system for the vulnerable or unemployed. They are either assisted by a benevolent family member, church or other non-profit organization, or they resort to begging.
